What is a DNS Lookup?

DNS Lookup Overview

Common questions:

Did my DNS record change propagate / update?

A DNS Lookup lets you check that your DNS record changes have propagated by checking the configurations from multiple public resolving nameservers and dozens of monitoring locations.

See your records from your users’ perspectives and make sure your changes have propagated across your whole network.

How DNS Lookup works

A DNS lookup is run against the authoritative nameserver for that domain, which is usually the DNS management provider. That means, if you make any changes to your records, you will instantly see them reflected in a DNS lookup –as opposed to a resolving nameserver which would have the old record configuration in its cache.
