Overview
If you are switching to Constellix from another DNS provider, you can easily import all of your domains and DNS records using your API credentials. API integrations can also be used to manage record changes between two DNS providers if you are using a Primary/Primary DNS configuration for redundancy (secondary DNS).
We currently accept imports from:
Note: We are currently unable to import complex record configurations utilizing services such as Failover and Geo-based records.
Prerequisites
- You already have a Constellix account
- You the necessary information from your other DNS provider, including your access key and secret key
How to Import a Domain With an API Key in Constellix
1. Navigate to Configuration > 3rd Party Import
After logging in to the Constellix DNS dashboard, select Configuration on the left-hand side menu to expand options, and then choose 3rd Party Import.
2. Choose DNS Provider and Enter Keys
Next, choose the provider you are importing a domain from by selecting the gray + icon on the right-hand side of the screen.
In this example, we are using Amazon, but the same steps apply for each provider (necessary information may vary).
Enter the information required from the provider. In this example, we need the Access Key and the Secret Key from Amazon. Once the keys have been added, click the green Continue button.
4. Select Domains
In the Import Domains window, select the domains you want to import into Constellix. Once you're done selecting domains, click Continue to finish the import.
You should now see a list of Constellix nameservers and a message stating that your domain has been imported successfully. Click the green Done button to finish.
Note: Don’t forget to update your registrar with the Constellix nameservers.
