CDN Provisioning helps our users to automatically route to the fastest CDN provider in their region. This tool can assist users with speed, reduced latency, and SEO with their domain. It can automatically make the decision by using synthetic monitoring or community data to see which CDN is the fastest. It works with regional monitoring so that we can ensure that your customer gets the fastest response times within their network. Please note: Users will have to enable GTD and enable GeoIP for a domain in order to successfully complete the steps below.
1. Navigate to "Muti-CDN>Set Up Multi-CDN"
2. Select "Create new Multi-CDN Configuration"
3. General Information
Name- This field is used to name your Multi-CDN configuration
Enter a Domain- This field is used to enter in your virtual host
Choose a source for Traffic Steering decisions- This field is used to select a source for your traffic steering you can select RUM or Synthetic check. RUM stands for real user monitoring we monitor from the IP of users' devices. Synthetic checks are monitored from our nodes across the world.
4. Configuring Existing CDN providers
Check Protocol: This field is used to select the Web check between HTTP and HTTPS
Check Path: This field is used to enter in your path to a file that you would like to check
Search String: This field used to enter in the string that you put in the first 2KB
Note: The above fields are optional
CDN Provider Name: This field is used to select your CDN provider
CDN Host: This field is used to enter the FQDN that your CDN provider gave you.
Note: You will only have to enter the FQDN and not the URL
5. RUM Settings
RUM Update Interval: This field is used to select how often we update your configuration based on the data gathered from RUM
IP Filter Rules Limit: This field is used to choose the maximum number of IP Filter rules we should make for this configuration
RUM data collection: This field is used to choose Community or Account based on how we gather data
Average object size: This field is used to choose your object size for content small, medium, large file size measurements/ analytics
6. Click Save
Once you have click save our system will automatically create Sonar checks and CNAME/ANAME record pools for each GTD region in the account. You will have to apply the CDN configuration to a domain.
Note: It may take a few minutes to switch from Pending to Ready
7. Enable RUM Tracking Script
8. Apply to the domain
