Global Traffic Director

Regional Traffic Steering

Global Traffic Director (GTD) uses region-specific rules to answer queries in the originating region. GTD, also known as geo-load balancing, is used to optimize traffic flow and query resolution accuracy. Essentially, different zone files are hosted on our nameservers depending on which region they reside in and queries are answered by a nameserver that is determined by Border Gateway Protocol (BGP) routing.

Regions available are:

  • North America East
  • North America West
  • Europe
  • Asia-Pac
  • Oceania
  • South America
